Klcs Newsbrief: Green Apple Day of Service
NASCAR driver Jesse Iwuji Racing joined volunteers at Esperanza Elementary School to build garden boxes and picnic tables, and planted more than 70 native plants for a student outdoor learning area that encourages environmental literacy. The project is a joint effort between NASCAR Green, LA's BEST After School Enrichment Program, the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter (USBC) and Esperanza Elementary School located in the historic Westlake District of downtown Los Angeles.
Secrets of the Heart
Dream A World Education presents Secrets of the Heart Culmination at Esperanza Elementary. This program for kindergarten teaches children friendship and a smile, kindness, imagination and gratitude through music, dance theater arts and visual arts. Teaching artists who conducted this program were Anindo Marshall, Tiffany Abril, Ashley Maher and Lauren Watanabe. This residency program was funded by The California Arts Council, Department of Cultural Affairs, The Rosenthal Family Foundation and Dream A World Education's generous donors.
