    Thank you to all those who attended September 11's SSC and ELAC Orientations.

    Elections for SSC and ELAC parent members will occur on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
    ----1:00 P.M. for SSC Elections and
    ----2:00 P.M. for ELAC Elections.

    Please complete this form if you would like to nominate yourself to be a member of one or both of these parent committees. You may print it out and drop it off to the Main Office 7:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

    Or you may call the Main Office (213-484-0326) to let them know you would like to nominate yourself. They will complete the form for you. You will not have to worry about printing the form or dropping off the completed form.

    All who turn in their names and would like to be elected as a parent member must attend the Elections Meeting on Wednesday, September 23.

    A Message From Our Principal...

    Esperanza Parents and Guardians,

    The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 18. The first two days of school--August 18 and 19--will focus on preparing for online learning.

    Students will spend Tuesday and Wednesday morning watching orientation videos about tools and strategies for online learning success, online safety and digital citizenship.

    IMPORTANT: Starting Tuesday, students need to log on to with the username and password and click on their grade level to access their lessons.

    On Tuesday, August 18 at 1:00 p.m. (English) and at 1:30 p.m. (Spanish) I will hold a virtual meeting to welcome you to our school and answer any questions you may have. Go to and use Meeting ID 976 3400 3267. For those who are unable to attend, a video recording of the meeting will be posted on our school's website.

    On Wednesday, August 19 in the afternoon, teachers will hold an online meet-and-greet session with their students. Students will go to their Schoology course to learn the time for this meeting.

    On Thursday, August 20, a full day of online instruction will start at 9:00 a.m. We encourage your child to be logged in on time and ready for this exciting start to the school year.

    iPad Distribution Schedule for NEW students to Esperanza Elementary who are in the following classes for this Fall 2020. Please come to Esperanza Elementary during the scheduled day and time for your child.

    We are collecting iPads and Wi-Fi hotspots of students not returning to Esperanza!

    5th graders going to middle school (all students who were previously in Ms. Nevarez, Ms. Gil, Ms. Barrilleaux, Ms. Thompson, and Ms. Trejo’s 5th grade classes) and any ETK – 4th grade students not returning to Esperanza Elementary MUST RETURN technology devices (iPad and hotspot) to Esperanza Elementary!

    Mr. Rumble, Principal, and the main office staff of Esperanza are collecting all 5th grade iPads and hotspots starting now! 

    If you have received one or both of these devices, please return to the main office Monday – Friday, 7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

    The middle school or the elementary school you will be going to will be providing you a new iPad, Chromebook, and/or Wi-Fi hotspot. 

    Remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing guidelines (6 feet apart) when dropping the devices to the main office.

    The Esperanza main office staff and Mr. Rumble, Principal, are back from summer vacation!

    The main office doors are open Monday – Friday, 7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

    You may pick up ETK – 5th Grade ENROLLMENT PACKETS from the main office starting Monday, July 27 (8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M). 

    When visiting the main office, please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

    All parents are encouraged to make a difference in the governance of our school by participating in this school year’s 2020-2021 SSC and ELAC. An orientation has been scheduled to provide you with an understanding of the purpose of SSC and ELAC and to explain the election process. If you would like to learn more information about what is involved in serving in one or both of these committees, please attend the orientation meeting on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 2:00 P.M.

    COVID-19: Tips for Elementary School Families

    Here are some tips for talking with your child about COVID-19: Speak calmly. Your calmness will help your child be calm. Find out what your child knows about what is going on. Tell your child the truth but leave out unnecessary information that may increase your child’s anxiety. Let your child know you will always try to answer questions.
